Quiet Strength, Lasting Warmth
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Jothene Carosin, lovingly known to many as “Jo”, and best known alongside her husband Dominic (“Dom”) Carosin as “Dom and Jo” to us locals.
To those who knew them well, Dom and Jo were inseparable — a warm, welcoming presence whose easy connection and genuine hospitality left a lasting impression. Jo was kind, gracious, and quietly attentive, with a warmth that made people feel instantly at ease. She had a way of making conversations linger and moments feel unhurried.
Jo was an important part of the story behind Restaurant Isabelle, supporting Dom and the restaurant with care, encouragement, and an intuitive sense of what makes people feel welcome. While she never sought attention, her presence shaped the atmosphere in ways that were deeply felt by guests and friends alike.
Above all, Jo was devoted to the people she loved. Her partnership with Dom was built on affection, respect, and shared purpose, and it was evident to anyone who spent time in their company. Her passing leaves a deep absence for Dom, for family and friends, and for the many people who came to know her simply as “Jo” at the bar.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the warmth she brought into every space she occupied.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Dom and to all who are mourning Jo’s loss.
